Tuscarawas County Art Guild Fall Art Exhibit

The Tuscarawas County Art Guild met for its fall exhibition at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts in New Philadelphia on Nov. 9. The exhibit will be on display until Dec. 13.

The following artists were honored:

Best of Show went to Vivian K. Mosley, "Aperitif," oil on claybord.

Award of Excellence went to Paul Horning, "Trompe L’oeil," oil; Peggy Sibila, "The Girl with the Balloon Dress," clay/mixed media; Kiyoe Howard, "Windswept," acrylic; Nancy McDonald, "Regal Rooster," mixed media; and William Koch, "Light of the Forest," watercolor.

Merit Award went to Eric Dye, "Shulamite Bride," multi-media sculpture; Gina Judy, "Dreamscape," water media collage; Jeanne D’Anniballe, "Late September Splendor," mixed media; Ed Steffek, "19th Century Bath House," pastel on paper; and Jim Watson, "Proud Mama," oil.

Honorable mention went to Todd Bergert, "Fiona," oil on claybord; Judy Rohr, "Retired Auto," acrylic on pallet boards; Marc Nickles, "Clearing the Field," acrylic; Sueanne Crawford, "Emmersyn," oil on claybord; Cheryl Mickley, "Drop Zone," photography; Stephanie Space, "The Fire, Once Lit," mixed media; and Jane Hazell, "Ready to Roll," graphite.

Nov. 9 was the opening of the exhibit. Artists from several counties attended. Yan Sun made the trip to Tuscarawas County to judge the fall exhibit. Sun is the professor of art, chair of the art department and director of the art gallery of Muskingum University.
